about

Composed and recorded for Reverb Theatre's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Ellie Heard, performed as part of the Adelaide Fringe from February 19th-21st, 2015.

Following the success of his original score for Peter Pan (2014), Jacob returns with an original score to one of William Shakespeare's best-loved comedies.

Taking influence from the popular and rock stylings of the tail-end of the 1960's and the local rock-ambient-jazz scene of Adelaide community, this body of work meanders between the worlds of radio pop tunes, slow-burning groove-based rock and gloomy, effects-heavy woodland ambience. To move, to be moved, to foot-tap and to laugh are at the heart of Jacob's compositional concept throughout this production as he finds himself maturing, developing and finding his musical feet in the local theatre community.

Thanks for listening!
